Wellness Services
At Ohio County Hospital, we believe that staying healthy and doing things to promote healthy lifestyles are a part of our purpose statement. In an effort to achieve this purpose, the staff at Ohio County Hospital organizes a number of Health Fairs in the community including in-school, on-site industry, and community events. Screenings for high blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose, and colon cancer are available, and physical fitness assessments are also offered on-site. Some of the screenings are offered for a fee while others are offered free to the community. For more information about our Wellness Services, contact our Community Relations Department at (270) 298-5487.
Other Wellness Services we provide at the hospital include screening mammograms, Dexa Scans (a painless screening exam to detect osteoporosis), Nutritional Counseling, and Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab programs. These programs generally require a physician’s referral. For more information about these wellness services, please ask your doctor if you would benefit.
Since diabetes and smoking-related illnesses are prevalent in Ohio County and surrounding areas, Ohio County Hospital offers the Cooper-Clayton Smoking Cessation Program and in March 2003, a Diabetes Self-Management Educational Program.
