Gastroenterology Lab 
The practice of gasteroenterology has undergone a dramatic change in recent years. New endoscopic instruments that are now available have enabled physicians and specially-trained nursing staff to examine a large portion of the gastrointestinal tract. This further enables the physician to obtain biopsy specimens from these sites and diagnose and treat many illnesses that otherwise might go undetected.
At Ohio County Hospital, the staff stays abreast of the latest advances in technology. Some of the procedures completed in the department include:
Upper Gastrointestinal endoscopy
Colonoscopy
Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography
Manometry studies
We have many approaches to gastrointestinal problems. Our goal is to incorporate the latest methods of diagnostic procedures and the best treatment options available to give patients the individualized care they need and expect.
