Admissions and Registration
 Open Admissions Policy
Ohio County Hospital Admissions and Registration Department exists to uphold the purpose, vision, and values of our facility. OCH will admit and treat all persons regardless of race, ethnic background, sex, national origin, handicap, or religious creed. Our Hospital facilities are available to all patients, families, and visitors.
Your Admission
 
An admissions and registrations office is located in each lobby of the hospital for your convenience. You or your family will need to provide accurate insurance information at the time of admission. Please arrive 10 to 15 minutes ahead of your appointment time to register. You will be asked to sign a consent form, at each visit, for permission to perform testing and/or medical treatment and to bill your medical insurance.
At this time you will be taken to the nursing unit to which you are assigned. A nurse will interview you by asking questions about your general condition, diet, allergies, personal habits, and other factors, which will apply specifically to the nursing care you will receive. Federal regulations require hospital personnel to ask you questions concerning the presence of an Advance Directive. An Advance Directive includes whether or not you have a living will or durable power of attorney with a healthier clause. Information on Advance Directives is provided to every patient upon admission.
Please feel free to ask the nursing staff any questions you have about our hospital, staff, or procedures. We will try to provide you with the room accommodations of your choice. However, on occasion, the accommodations you prefer might not be immediately available because of physician requests, special treatment procedures, or the medical needs of other hospitalized patients.
