Emergency Department

The Emergency Department provides emergency care to all patients, regardless of their ability to pay.   A physician oversees the Emergency Department twenty-four hours a day, working with a team of highly trained healthcare professionals and a wide range of on-call specialty physicians.

Our staff is trained and certified in advanced courses such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum (TNCC), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Trauma Nurse Specialist (TNS). The physicians and nurses have completed in-depth education courses on Hazardous Materials both at the awareness level and operations level.

Treatment areas in the department, which are equipped with the latest equipment and technology, include:
  • Cardiac / Trauma Room
  • Trauma Room
  • Orthopedic / Eye Room/Suture
  • Gynecological Room
  • 2 exam rooms
  • 2 “Fast-Track” areas for minor problems such as colds and sore throats.
The department is structured to provide a private area for patient care, thus protecting the privacy of the patients and their families. For more information, contact Kathy Halley, RN, Director of Emergency Services, at (270) 298-5452.
