Job Description: Greets all patients, families, physicians and visitors in a prompt, polite, and helpful manner and directs them as necesary. Provides smooth admission activities. Informs appropriate department of person's arrival. Verifies information, prepares paperwork, and makes necessary computer entries to register patients. Receives and redirects all incoming telephone calls in a pleasant manner. Takes messages and distributes as appropriate. Maintains work space in an organized fashion keeping in mind that the desk area is the first place seen by all visitors and patients. Communicates with clinical staff in order to coordinate the smooth flow of patients through the facility. Obtains patient demographic information from the doctor's office, patient or patients family.
